Personal
Injury Solicitors
Overview
of the Law Society
The Law Society is the representative and regulatory
body for solicitors of England and Wales. In order to practice, all
solicitors must have a Practising Certificate issued by the Law
Society. This certificate is renewed on an annual basis. The
Law Society's headquarters are in London, but it also has offices in
Redditch, Worcestershire and in Leamington Spa which houses the Office for
the Supervision of Solicitors. There are regional offices in Preston,
Cambridge, Bristol, and Wakefield, and an office in Wales, Cardiff. The
Society also has an office in Brussels.
It
is important that you instruct a firm of solicitors and not a claims
management company because only a solicitor is:
1.
qualified to practice law.
2.
regulated by The Law Society and must act in your best interest
3.
protected by The Law Society's professional indemnity insurance should
anything goes wrong.
Further
notes on The Law Society and why it is important that you only instruct a
firm of qualified personal injury solicitors.
